Bodegas Caro also makes a blend named 'Caro' which has the reverse type of blend, more Cab than Malbec. Both the Caro and the Amancaya, have a subtle harmony of Argentine identity and style of Bordeaux. The wines are fruitier than their Bordelais counterparts, yet still boast plenty of structure.

90 points, Wine Spectator:
"Concentrated and focused, with alluring cedar and roasted vanilla notes weaving through the dark currant and plum fruit, followed by a nicely structured finish. More like Cabernet than Malbec. Rock solid. Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2010." (Web Only, 2008)
90 points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"For a sense of class, elevation and style that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, this blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon is very much worth a go. It’s versatile and stocky, but it’s no fruit-only lug. That said, expect saturated berry flavors, herbal hints, baked notes and firm tannins. Masculine but approachable. Drink now through 2011." 90 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Bright ruby-red. Complex nose offers currant, graphite, tobacco, licorice, cedar and fresh herbs. Ripe, juicy and suave, with lovely density to the supple flavors of currant, graphite and dark chocolate. At once velvety and energetic, with a peppery nuance perking up the dark fruit flavors. The firm finish features sweet tannins. I find more thorough ripeness here than in the 2006 version, making this a stunning value in claret-like Argentine wine." (Jan/Feb '09)
